About the Centre

The National Centre provides coaching at every level in a range of water sports including dinghy sailing, cruising, windsurfing and sea kayaking. The Centre enjoys a friendly ambience and we offer excellent shore-based accommodation and modern boats.

Our training staff are highly qualified and staff members bring with them energy and enthusiasm for the activities. Ashore our support staff work hard to make your stay with us both comfortable and welcoming.

Along with sportscotland Inverclyde, Largs Yacht Haven, Largs Sailing Club and RYA Scotland, Cumbrae forms the Scottish Sailing Institute. This facility is available for major regattas and as a training venue for competitive sailors.

 

Join the new windsurfing team - sportscotland's Superstars !

If you are between 10 and 15 years old this is the ideal way for you to start windsurfing !

Living by the coast is an ideal location for nurturing windsurfing talent. sportscotland National Centre Cumbrae is providing a base for this talent by hosting a Team 15 windsurfing club. Team 15 (T15) is a nationwide network of clubs where young windsurfers, aged 15 and under get together every week to have a great time and learn new skills. The club is aimed at encouraging 10 to 15 year olds into windsurfing and eventually into racing and freestyle competition. This is a great opportunity for youngsters to go on and compete against other national team 15 clubs in a great social environment.

Getting into the team 15 clubbing scene is easy and it doesn’t cost the earth. The club nights will be run at the national centre every other Monday evening. The cost per session is f £6.50 and includes; use of up to date equipment, wetsuits & buoyancy aids, instruction and a pick-up will be arranged from Largs Yacht Haven to Cumbrae.

Whether you windsurf already or are just thinking about it, T15 is all you need to know to get to the action. From basic board balance to cutting edge stuff T15 can make it happen for you. So if you are aged 15 or under then why not join in ?
